Local Business Fills A Void

Submitted by Top10USA on July 26, 2009 – 1:41 amNo Comment

hardwareJeff and Deane Pfeil, the husband and wife duo of J.W. Pfeil & Company, a commercial leasing firm in Saratoga Springs New York spent much of their time driving back and forth from the hardware store to the 2 residential renovation projects they were running. Innovative, to say the least, they decided to fill the gap and end renovation woes for local residents and businesses and open up a hardware store.

The nearest hardware, Trojan Hardware, had closed down after 94 years in business, leaving the downtown area with no hardware stores remotely close.

The 8,700-square-foot Pfeil Hardware will stock hardware, small appliances, fasteners, electrical and plumbing supplies, Benjamin Moore paints and other products. But it won’t sell lumber.

The Pfeils have been planning the store for a year by visiting hardware stores in college towns and large cities to see what kinds of products customers need.
